General Features

What is OktoNote and how does it work?
OktoNote is an AI-powered note-taking app that automatically organizes your thoughts into knowledge cards. Simply capture anything - text, voice, photos, or documents - and our AI instantly categorizes and structures your content into one of 10 different card types for easy retrieval and organization.
What types of input does OktoNote support?
OktoNote supports multiple input methods: typed text, voice recordings (with automatic transcription), photos (with OCR text extraction), and document uploads (PDFs, Word docs, etc.).
Does OktoNote work offline?
Yes! OktoNote is designed with an offline-first approach. Once your content is processed by our AI services, your organized notes and files are stored on your device, so you can access and search even without an internet connection. The app syncs when you're back online.
How intelligent is the search feature?
OktoNote uses semantic search powered by AI, meaning it understands context and meaning, not just keywords. You can search for concepts, feelings, or related topics, and it will find relevant content even if the exact words don't match.

Sharing & Import

Can I share content from other apps to OktoNote?
Yes! OktoNote includes a share extension that appears in the iOS share sheet. You can share text, links, images, and documents from any app directly into OktoNote, where they'll be automatically processed and categorized.
How do I share from Safari or other browsers?
When viewing a webpage, tap the share button and select "OktoNote" from the share sheet. The page content, including the URL and any selected text, will be imported and processed automatically.
Can I export my notes from OktoNote?
Yes, you can export individual notes. Export options include plain text, markdown, PDF, and JSON formats. This ensures your data remains portable and accessible.
Does OktoNote sync across devices?
Yes, OktoNote syncs your content across all your devices where you're signed in with the same account. Changes made on one device automatically appear on others when connected to the internet.

App Views & Interface

What is the Feed View and how does it work?
The Feed View is your main dashboard that displays all your knowledge cards in a clean, organized interface. Each card shows the AI-processed content with its category (task, journal, etc.), key information, and visual indicators. You can scroll through your cards chronologically or filter by specific categories to find what you need quickly.
What's the difference between Feed View and Timeline View?
Feed View shows your processed knowledge cards with AI-enhanced content, while Timeline View displays your original source data chronologically. Timeline View is perfect when you want to see exactly what you originally captured - your raw voice recordings, original photos, unprocessed text, and documents in the order you created them.
Can I filter cards by category in the Feed View?
Yes! You can filter your feed to show only specific categories like Tasks, Journal entries, Lists, or any of the 10 card types. This makes it easy to focus on particular types of content when you need them, such as viewing only your tasks when planning your day.
How do I access my original content in Timeline View?
Switch to Timeline View to see your content in chronological order as you originally captured it. This includes your original voice recordings (with playback), unprocessed photos, raw text input, and uploaded documents. It's like a complete history of everything you've added to OktoNote.
Do both views work offline?
Absolutely! Both Feed View and Timeline View work completely offline. Once processed by our AI services, your organized cards and original source data are stored on your device, so you can browse, search, and access everything without an internet connection.
